> Towards the dry south...

Travelling further south into the desert south of Douz and on towards the tiny oasis settlement of Ksar Ghilane. Getting there was a bit of a struggle because sandstorms in the previous week had moved the dunes over the track, or "piste". It was dark by the time I arrived and set up camp among the trees.

Stuck in the first dune field, near Douz..	Typical rocky scrub desert. Nice day!	The "easy" pipeline piste, now with added dunes.	The desert is a great place in the evening.
They all watched me dig out the bike.	What I saw, lying on the sand. So clear!	The desert moonlight is amazing.	The oasis at Ksar Ghilane, 02:30
Idhi makes traditional bread in the sand.	Berber horseman in his work clothes.	Galloping across the sand? Me?	...more like a stroll back to camp.
